A Resource for your PERS stress

I have had many questions from retired and pre-retired PERS employees that can be answered with the help of PERS' Quarterly newsletter called Perspectives.

The most common questions I get from folks are about how to prepare for retirement and what are my health care options (of course the most popular is what option should I choose, but I can't tell you that in a blog post, you would have to come see me).

PERS produces two types of newsletters; one for retirees and one for active employees.

For those of you active or retired employees and don't want to read through the newsletter, here is the gist (click on the articles for larger view):

What information would you need to tell me what option should I choose?

I've never been as effective without meeting with someone to talk about all variables that are at play in looking at retirement, so that would be my preference. No one has left a meeting with me regretting that investment of time. If this simply can't work, let me know and I could provide some basics. However, please take into consideration that you are dealing with the second most complicated retirement system in America. It should require an investment of your time to make sure you take all things into consideration before you make a choice that sticks with you for the rest of your life.
